A roof leak rarely shows up where the water gets in. We find the actual entry point, then fix it properly — not just patch where the stain is.
Why the stain isn’t the leak
Water travels along rafters, sarking and battens before it shows up on a ceiling. The mark you can see can be well away from where the roof is actually letting water in. Chasing the stain instead of the source is why the same leak keeps coming back after a “repair”.
What causes most roof leaks
- Cracked, slipped or missing tiles
- Failed flashing around penetrations — vents, flues, skylights, chimneys
- Deteriorated pointing and bedding on tiled roofs
- Split or perished membrane on flat and metal roof sections
- Blocked or damaged box gutters and valleys
How we repair it
We trace the leak back to source first, which sometimes means checking the roof during or just after rain rather than only on a dry day. Once we know where the water is actually entering, we repair or replace the failed section — flashing, membrane, tiles or valley — to AS 3740 and National Construction Code requirements. Every repair gets a compliance certificate and a 7 year warranty on workmanship.

If it’s actively leaking during rain, call and we’ll tell you honestly whether it can wait or needs immediate attention. Not everything is an emergency, and we won’t tell you it is just to get the job.
