Below-ground waterproofing for basements, lift pits and cellars across Sydney.
Below-ground is different to everything else we do. A roof sheds water. A basement holds it back – permanently, under pressure, from all sides. Get it wrong and you don’t get a drip, you get a wet room.
Positive and negative side
Positive side means waterproofing the outside face, where the water actually is. It’s the better approach and the one we use on new builds, because the membrane is working with the water pressure rather than against it.
Negative side means treating from inside. That’s what’s available on an existing basement you can’t excavate around. It works, but the system has to be specified for hydrostatic pressure – a standard membrane will simply be pushed off the wall.

Drainage matters as much as membrane
A lot of below-ground problems aren’t waterproofing failures – they’re drainage failures. If groundwater has nowhere to go, it will find the weakest point in your structure and use it.
We look at where the water is coming from and where it should be going before recommending a system. Sometimes the fix is drainage, not membrane.
