Roof Leak Detection

Roof Leak Detection Sydney

Before anything gets repaired, it has to be found — and on a roof, that’s rarely obvious from the ground.

Why roof leaks are hard to find

Roofs move water sideways before it drops. A single entry point can show up as a stain in more than one room, or in a completely different spot to where the water actually got in. Guessing at the source means paying for repairs that don’t fix anything.

How we detect it

We inspect the roof itself — tiles, flashing, valleys, penetrations — and follow the path water would take from any suspect point back down to where you’re seeing damage. Where it helps, we check during or just after rain, since a dry-day inspection can miss leaks that are only active under certain conditions.

What you get

A clear explanation of where the water is coming from and why, in plain language, before any repair work starts or is quoted.

Signs you need a leak detection, not just a patch

A ceiling stain that keeps coming back after “repairs”, damp patches that only appear during heavy rain, or a leak nobody can pin down after more than one look — these are the jobs where finding the source properly saves you from paying for the same repair twice.

Roof types we work on

Tiled, metal and Colorbond, and flat or membrane roofs all fail differently, so we adjust how we look for the leak accordingly — tiles and flashing on a pitched roof, laps and fixings on metal, and membrane condition and falls on a flat roof.

After the inspection

Once we know where the water is getting in, we’ll tell you what’s involved in fixing it and whether it needs doing now or can wait. See our roof leak repair service for how we carry out the fix once the source is confirmed.
